Ink Project – Rhythm Spirit

by Rémi

Ink Project the collaborative project of producer Jez Lloyd is again in the news with this new release. Surrounded by the singers Coreysan, FiFi Rong and Yazmyn Hendrix, Jez Lloyd offers us Rhythm Spirit the third album ofInk Project. Released in February 2021, Rhythm Spirit is available in digital format and vinyl.

With its nine songs, Rythm Spirit rhymes with sensuality and intimacy. This passion is expressed through the various vocal timbres: Coreysan’s deep, seductive and attractive voice (“New Phase”), Yazmyn Hendrix’s almost ethereal voice (“Blink”) and finally, FiFi Rong’s very languid voice (“The End”).

Jez Lloyd emphasizes these different voices and links them together by exploring various harmonic color palettes and textural ranges. “Blink,” the second track of the album, has a jazz feel to it. Its harmony is provided by an organ loop and the diffuse pattern of a ride cymbal. With “The End,” FiFi Rong opens a door to the Asian continent, especially India with her vocal ornamentation. Together, the nine tunes have great homogeneity. The different loops and sounds have been carefully arranged.

Ink Project is a group to discover and their third album, Rhythm Spirit opens the curtain on a colorful and voluptuous musical universe. Already very intoxicating at home, the listening experience of Rhythm Spirit makes you want to see Ink Project live.
