The Sea At Midnight – Miracle

by François Zappa

It’s incredible the capacity that The Sea At Midnight, a Californian darkwave project from California, has to create really touching music. Their new single Miracle is another exciting gem in their short discography that includes the album We Share the Same Stars, one of the best albums of 2020 in my opinion. In addition, Vince Grant’s project has released a fantastic EP entitled Oceans and now two singles: Under The Water and this Miracle that we want to talk about.

“Under The Water” was another great track with the effervescence and euphoria of Vince’s best compositions and with an original production that will make you feel “underwater”. In “Miracle”, on the other hand, we find another of those melancholic, confessional songs, with the sea as a metaphor again, that The Sea At Midnight are so good at. The powerful guitars and atmospheric keyboards help to give it an extra feeling. Of particular note is the wonderful way the song ends, with Vince’s heartfelt way of pronouncing “dawn is breaking” and the final “Miracle”.
