Reality has finally reached our stereos. The moment has arrived in which, the bands we listen to, have started to sing about these strange times we are living in. And one of these first bands is StykFaktor whose new single Distance explores the difficulties of relationships in these days. StykFaktor is a darkwave band from St. Louis formed at the beginning of the 2000s by Styk, former member of Visions of Passion & Torture. After a first instrumental album, the band published their first album, titled Whisper of the Dance in 2002, followed by the Sparkle Fade EP, which included an interesting cover of Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire”. The band had a hiatus after the death of Jeff Carline, the other main member in 2004, but they came back a few years later with the release of Inside in 2012 and I Feel Synthetic a year later. Lately, they have released Fifteen Winters in 2017 and Fallen last year. You can listen to all this material and buy it on StykFaktor’s Bandcamp.
“Distance” is, as we said before, StykFaktor’s new single, a catchy darkwave track with a very modern sound and a great and passionate performance by Styk. Listen to it a couple of times and the tune won’t leave your head. Highly recommended.
