The Mission frontman Wayne Hussey has re-recorded the classic “Tower of Strengh” together with a really long list of collaborators in support of workers who have to deal with Covid-19. The song is already available in digital version and on October 2nd, the 12″ vinyl and CD versions will arrive. The single includes a remix from famous Danish musician Trentemøller and another by Albie Mischenzingerzen (Wayne Hussey himself). The proceeds will go to charities personally chosen by the contributors. The single can be pre-ordered here.
“Tower of Strengh” is one of The Mission’s most famous songs and lately, as Wayne Hassey said, it has been adopted as an anthem by some NHS worker, as the track is more valid today than ever. The tune has even grown stronger with this new version that comes with a very moving video.
The list of collaborators in this project is just amazing: Andy Rourke, Billy Duffy, Budgie, Evi Vine, Gary Numan, James Alexander Graham, Jay Aston, Julianne Regan, Kevin Haskins, Kirk Brandon, Lol Tolhurst, Martin Gore, Michael Aston, Michael Ciravolo, Midge Ure, Miles Hunt, Rachel Goswell, Richard Fortus, Robin Finck, Steve Clarke, Tim Palmer and Trentemøller. From El Garaje we want to express our total support to any initiative like this.
