We know that there are still a lot of EBM fans out there (in fact, we at the Garaje really love that style), so it’s always a pleasure to speak about one new album, like this Promises of Hope and Fear by the Belgian band Causenation. The album consists in eight tracks, recorded between 2017 and 2020 that have now been released by the prestigious label Wool-E Disc (who also released Enzo Kreft’s latest work, commented yesterday). There are not a lot of copies left, so hurry up if you want one.
We have talked about EBM in the first paragraph, but it’s not the only thing that we can find in this debut: there are some tracks more synthpop/darkwave like “Demons Of The Night” and “Fear The Future” has clearly a post-punk sound. But “A Better Day”, “Mark of Cain” and even “Face the Shame” have strong classic EBM elements. Causenation debuted with the single The Things You Promised in 2018. Later, they released the EP Black Lust, Demons of the night, and some Remix EPs.
