Derri\u00e8re le projet, il y a Leah Darkling et Erick Scheid. Leur musique est \u00e0 l\u2019image de leurs diff\u00e9rents parcours artistiques, un savant m\u00e9lange entre arts de la sc\u00e8ne et genres musicaux comme le shoegaze, le post-punk ou le rock gothique. <em>Of Ruination <\/em>est disponible depuis le 31\u00a0octobre 2020 au format num\u00e9rique\u00a0CD.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">L\u2019on pourrait voir cet album comme une toile de ma\u00eetre o\u00f9 chaque piste ajoute ses couleurs et ses textures, o\u00f9 les contours de formes qui nous semblent famili\u00e8res s\u2019estompent ou se pr\u00e9cisent davantage. La premi\u00e8re piste, \u00ab\u2009Terra Ephemera\u2009\u00bb est comme une esquisse qui prend corps au fur et \u00e0 mesure. Les sons bruitistes et les souffles sont \u00e9toff\u00e9s par des notes, puis de l\u2019harmonie. Les percussions conf\u00e8rent une palette de couleurs \u00e9sot\u00e9riques au titre. \u00ab\u2009Thy Womb Full of Black Nectar\u2009\u00bb nous place dans une ambiance qui remplit l\u2019espace sonore o\u00f9 la r\u00e9verb\u00e9ration joue un grand r\u00f4le. La voix de Leah se m\u00e9lange \u00e0 cette ambiance. Son lyrisme donne de l\u2019amplitude aux accords et les ouvre davantage, le tout soulign\u00e9 par un jeu de d\u00e9calage int\u00e9ressant entre le chant et un contre-chant au synth\u00e9tiseur. Dans les derniers instants de la chanson, il ressort de cette voix une impression de liturgie. \u00ab\u2009Masque L\u2019Intrigue\u2009\u00bb propose d\u2019autres sonorit\u00e9s, une autre ambiance d\u2019o\u00f9 \u00e9merge une boucle rythmique. Les effets de delay utilis\u00e9s sur certains instruments et la voix, en particulier sur les consonnes sifflantes cr\u00e9ent une certaine langueur, une \u00e9lasticit\u00e9 \u00e0 la musique. \u00ab\u2009Tears of the Moon\u2009\u00bb offre un contraste saisissant entre diff\u00e9rentes mati\u00e8res, l\u2019\u00e2pret\u00e9 de ce qui semble \u00eatre une guitare \u00e9lectrique oppos\u00e9e \u00e0 la douceur de la voix humaine. \u00ab\u2009Cold Dead Skin\u2009\u00bb bouscule l\u2019\u00e9nergie g\u00e9n\u00e9rale de l\u2019album par un tempo plus soutenu. L\u2019on retrouve un peu l\u2019ambiance du premier titre dans \u00ab\u2009Shadows of Whispering Phantoms\u2009\u00bb. Ici, le chant entonne une m\u00e9lop\u00e9e semblable \u00e0 une incantation qui am\u00e8ne des couleurs plus \u00ab\u2009fantastiques\u2009\u00bb. Enfin, \u00ab\u2009Of Ruination\u2009\u00bb, septi\u00e8me et dernier titre de l\u2019album, b\u00e2tit un mur de son \u00e9lectrique qui d\u00e9chire l\u2019espace environnant et sur lequel vogue toujours un chant doux et lyrique.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Le premier album de <strong>The Palace of Tears<\/strong> a sans aucun doute une beaut\u00e9 \u00e9trange qui place l\u2019auditeur au c\u0153ur d\u2019un tableau musical dont le nuancier demeure dans des teintes sombres.
