Des machines aux rythmes r\u00e9p\u00e9titifs et bien s\u00fbr, des guitares satur\u00e9es, des cris. Tel est l\u2019univers brut de d\u00e9coffrage de Stephen et Michael, les deux membres du groupe de metal industriel australien\u00a0<strong>No Names<\/strong>. Leur LP<em>\u00a0I Surrender to the Void as of Now I Am the Void<\/em>\u2009 donne le ton d\u00e8s la premi\u00e8re note, le premier impact. Compos\u00e9 de quatre titres et de quatre remix, il est disponible depuis le 28 ao\u00fbt 2020 au format cassette, num\u00e9rique et disque vinyle.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">L\u2019esth\u00e9tique de\u00a0<strong>No Names\u00a0<\/strong>rappelle celle de\u00a0<strong>Ministry<\/strong>. On retrouve l\u2019utilisation d\u2019\u00e9chantillonneurs, la programmation de s\u00e9quences et la d\u00e9formation des voix. La r\u00e9p\u00e9tition y est \u00e9galement un principe constant qui, si l\u2019on met de c\u00f4t\u00e9 la texture et une carrure inh\u00e9rente au genre metal, peut \u00e9voquer la musique r\u00e9p\u00e9titive. Le titre \u00ab\u2009The Thread\u2009\u00bb est un parfait exemple. Dans \u00ab\u2009Tedium\u2009\u00bb, ce principe de r\u00e9p\u00e9tition est caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 par le martelage incessant de la caisse claire sur tous les temps. L\u2019utilisation de dissonances aigu\u00ebs sur les refrains est tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressante. Elles nimbent d\u2019une lumi\u00e8re glaciale une mati\u00e8re sonore sombre et compacte. L\u2019introduction de \u00ab\u2009Fake Faith\u2009\u00bb, quasi horrifique, donne l\u2019impression d\u2019entendre un vieux vinyle tortur\u00e9. Cela apporte de la vari\u00e9t\u00e9 dans les choix de timbres vocaux. Le titre est \u00e2pre. Le tempo est plus lent et plus lourd et conf\u00e8re \u00e0 \u00ab\u2009Fake Faith\u2009\u00bb une aura pesante de col\u00e8re et de rage. Quant \u00e0 \u00ab\u2009Manufacturing desires\u2009\u00bb, il est tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressant puisqu\u2019il tend \u00e0 rompre avec l\u2019ordre r\u00e9p\u00e9titif \u00e9tabli dans les morceaux pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents au moyen d\u2019\u00e9quivalences et par la r\u00e9duction des valeurs rythmiques dans le dernier quart de la pi\u00e8ce pour une acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration effr\u00e9n\u00e9e.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">L\u2019on pourrait reprocher un manque de vari\u00e9t\u00e9 dans les quatre premi\u00e8res pistes. Riffs et rythmes identiques s\u2019enchainent inlassablement et les fins surviennent toutes de la m\u00eame fa\u00e7on\u00a0: elles sont s\u00e8ches et brutales. Cependant, l\u2019ensemble est parfaitement coh\u00e9rent et ces r\u00e9p\u00e9titions finissent par rendre l\u2019\u00e9coute fr\u00e9n\u00e9tique et jubilatoire.
