In comparison to the first day, I did not see so many gigs on Friday. I also spent a lot of time in the Bits zone.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"We began the second day of the festival in the Auditori again, with Midori Takada<\/b>\u2019s show. First of all, she used the gong in order to put all of us in trance, and she continued to present a unique and mesmerizing show. Among the tunes, we might have recognised \u201cHanya Shinyo\u201d, where Midori<\/b> was hitting the cymbals with a chain. Then, she played \u201cAnother Story\u201d and \u201cMkwaju\u201d at the marimba. In the last one, it seems she was sometimes improvising. The marimba parts were the most animated parts of the show. In the middle of the show, she recited a poem telling the story of a coconut tree, followed by several pieces played at the marimba. She then played one piece at the tam-tam, which might be \u201cChang-dra,\u201d the result of her collaboration with\u00a0Masahiko Satoh. <\/b>She ended with slow, theater-like movements, as she was playing the bells. Unique.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"The following show was\u00a0Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 Llergo\u2019s.\u00a0<\/b>She arrived with a guitarist, David Soler playing the pedal steel, and another musician in charge of the programmation. The beauty of her voice and her humility surprised everyone. She played \u201cNi\u00f1a de las Dunas\u201d as the second tune, where only the guitarist accompanied her. She also presented \u201cNana del Mediterr\u00e1neo,\u201d saying she wrote this piece four years ago. We also had the opportunity to listen to the premi\u00e8re of a tune to be published this week, composed with a producer of urban. \u201cMe miras pero no me ves\u201d was another great moment of the show. When the show ended, I saw people crying. One of the best concerts of the festival.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"After this, we wen to the Adidas stage to see Pond<\/b>, where a lot of people and wind were waiting for us. They began with \u201cDaisy,\u201d \u201cSweep Me Off My Feet\u201d and \u201cTasmania.\u201d The presence of the singer is very strong, and it\u2019s impossible not looking at him. They played \u201cDon\u2019t Look at the Sun or You\u2019ll Go Blind\u201d from their first album, and a version a bit insipid of Madonna<\/b>\u2019s \u201cRay of Light.\u201d They managed to get better results with the Bee Gees<\/b>\u2019 \u201cJive Talking\u201d and ended with mind-blowing guitars on \u201cGiant Tortoise.\u201d Better than expected.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"We then saw Just Mustard<\/b> because it fitted my schedule, a shoegaze quintet led by a girl. A few people were here to see the gig of this band of youngsters who had a very powerful sound. They only have one album,Wednesday<\/i> and one EP. We\u2019ll have to see them in the future.<\/span><\/p>\n

As we wanted to see a friend and as we were not really into anything at this hour, we saw again Fucked Up.<\/b> Their set was very similar to their Wednesday gig, but this time, it included \u201cLiving in a celebration.\u201d Another great show bit not as good as the one in the Apolo venue.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"After this, we went to see Jawbreaker<\/b>, one of the bands we really wanted to see. Those pioneers of emocore are a true legend. The sound was a bit low at the beginning, when they started with \u201cThe Boat Dreams from the Hill.\u201d From that point, they chained loads of their best tunes. Even if the audience was not very big, the tunes were acclaimed. We could hear \u201cWest Bay Invitational,\u201d \u201cChemistry,\u201d \u201cCondition Oakland,\u201d \u201cJet Black,\u201d \u201cAche,\u201d \u201cSave your Generation,\u201d \u201cChesterfield King,\u201d \u201cBoxcar,\u201d \u201cAccident Prone,\u201d \u201cFireman\u201d… Between the songs, the singer made some jokes about who wanted to work in his textile factory. Very good.<\/span><\/p>\n

As I had a small break between two gigs, I went to the merch area, this time in a remote position, and had something to eat. I then went to the Pitchfork to see the great\u00a0Aldous Harding<\/b>. She would have been perfect for the Auditori, where her playing with silence would have had sense without hearing Suede<\/b>. Anyways, she managed to have our entire attention from the beginning with \u201cDesigner,\u201d \u201cZoo Eyes,\u201d the fantastic \u201cTreasure,\u201d \u201cDamn\u201d or \u201cOld Peel.\u201d I\u2019d like to see her in better conditions. She really showed her uniqueness.<\/span><\/p>\n

I was next to the Rayban Studios, where was playing Object Blue<\/b>. Her live was less weird than I thought (you can have a look at the Boiler Room where she is invited to understand this). She was wearing an elegant dress, and we could almost always dance for the integrality of the set.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"The beach was our next destination. We saw a bit of\u00a0Overmono<\/b>, who was playing with batucada. At last, this was the turn of two of the gigs I really wanted to see. First, Cybotron<\/b>\u2019s live. They were playing in trio, and gave us some of the best electro and techno classics. They began with \u201cIndustrial Lies\u201d from 1983, followed by\u00a0\u201cR9\u201d from 1985. After this, they played some classics like \u201cAlleys of Your Mind,\u201d \u201cCosmic Raindance,\u201d \u201cTechno City.\u201d For the finale, they delighted us with \u201cCosmic Cars\u201d y \u201cClear.\u201d I was so happy that I could have eaten the sand without even noticing it.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Objekt\u2019s<\/b>\u00a0live was impressive as well. I was a bit afraid of it, because it was one of his first lives. But it was mind-blowing. He began with experimental music, and passed swiftly to Jungle. He played \u201cLost and Found,\u201d \u201cThem from Q\u201d and other tunes. I really had a good time.<\/span><\/p>\n

We finished the day with Helena Hauff, <\/b>whom we saw and said hello to during\u00a0Cybotron\u2019<\/b>s live. We danced until sunlight.<\/span><\/p>\n
