As I have already written about the singles released during the last months, it\u2019s nice to see that more than half of the review is practically done. I would like to remind you that in<strong> The Sea At Midnight, <\/strong>we can find Vince Grant singing, Chris King from <strong>Cold Showers <\/strong>producing and mixing and the additional drumming programming of\u00a0Brandon Pierce from <strong>Glaare<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\"><em>The Sea At Midnight<\/em> starts with \u201cMedicine\u201d, that was also the debut of the band, a track as melancholic as the name of the band and with some characteristics that we will find in the rest of the album: a charming eighties vibe and a heartfelt interpretation. The album continues the same order as the publication of the singles so next is \u201cMelancholia\u201d, that instrumentally reminds me both of <strong>The Cure<\/strong> and <strong>Joy Division, <\/strong>with lyrics about Vince\u2019s past problems with drugs. Maybe it\u2019s because of the moment I am living but the songs of <strong>The Sea At Midnight<\/strong> really manage to touch me, especially here when Vince deeply sings \u201cand water flows, water flows and I am sinking\u201d. More upbeat is \u201cHow Many Times\u201d with a sound closer to <strong>New Order<\/strong> but always with a touch of sadness.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">In my humble opinion, \u201cEdge of the World\u201d is still one of the best songs of the year, with that euphoria that was so peculiar of the music the eighties. It\u2019s a very moving song. The album continues with \u201cWe Share The Same Stars\u201d, that musically can remind me of <strong>New Order<\/strong>. A bit more electronic that the rest of the tracks, \u201cAfterglow\u201d is Vince Grant\u2019s love letter to sunsets, full of the romanticism and melancholy that now are trademarks of the band.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">And at the end of the album, we can find two new tracks: \u201cAnything About You\u201d shows again the bright and pop side of\u00a0<strong>The Sea At Midnight, <\/strong>in a very catchy track that keeps the general quality of the album. And the album finishes in the best possible way with \u201cSweet Addiction\u201d: a lot of melancholia, dreamy guitars and a perfect ending for one of the best albums of the year.
