Unknown Pleasures, the Franco-Spanish label that is sadly stopping releasing albums, has published<em>\u00a0Honoris DI6, <\/em>a kind of present for those who have been buying their material. Only 300 copies have been made, completely for free for those who order something from their really interesting catalogue. It\u2019s also possible to listen to the album <a href=\"https:\/\/hivmusic1.bandcamp.com\/album\/uprgold-15-honoris-di6-neo-folk-free-download\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>. In the past, the label also released a tribute in two parts to the music of<strong> Psychic TV<\/strong>, another our favourite artists.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The album starts with a martial take of \u201cNothing Changes\u201d by <strong>Years of Denial,<\/strong> a bit less post-punk than the original, with a beginning that will make you think of <strong>Dead Can Dance<\/strong> and a neofolk sound that the <strong>Death In June<\/strong> from 1983 still didn\u2019t know. The same track is covered by <strong>European Ghost,<\/strong> an Italian artist that we already mentioned due to his remix of <strong>Antipole, <\/strong>who this time makes a very frightening and modern post-punk version. <strong>Ono Scream<\/strong> points out the gentlest side of \u201cLittle Black Angel\u201d with a <strong>Nick Cave\u2019s<\/strong> vibe. Instead, <strong>Forgotten Sunrise Feat. Kadri Sammel<\/strong> make the track more solemn and sounds like <strong>Spiritual Front<\/strong> making a cover of <strong>DIJ<\/strong>. <strong>Opium Dream Estate<\/strong> makes \u201cBut, What Ends When The Symbols Shatter?\u201d a bit more sombre and\u00a0<strong>S\u00e9bastien Faits-Divers and HIV+<\/strong>\u00a0make us think that they are going to play a <strong>Smashing Pumkins\u2019 <\/strong>song instead of \u201cAccidental Prot\u00e9g\u00e9\u201d, reminding us how much\u00a0\u201cDisarm\u201d sounds like Douglas Pearce\u2019s song. \u201cHoly Water\u201d has been covered by <strong>Into Nowhere feat Ralf Jesek<\/strong> applying a very modern sound and making the track less rough.<strong> Judith Juillerat<\/strong> whose <em>Oneironautics <\/em>was reviewed a few months ago, takes \u201cFall Apart\u201d to her own musical universe and transforms the track into something dreamy and beautiful. In the hands of <strong>Selfishadows, \u201c<\/strong>Fields\u201d becomes a powerful darkwave track. <strong>Edgar\u2019s <\/strong><strong>Dreams<\/strong> \u2019s \u201cBreak the Black Ice\u201d\u00a0is peaceful and elegant, while <strong>Larme Blance<\/strong> founds the evil side of it. <strong>Mauri &amp; Selfishadows<\/strong> manage to make \u201cThe Calling MKII\u201d even darker. Italian artist <strong>Chris Shape, <\/strong>who is also going to be the last release of the label, makes \u201cHeaven Street\u201d a powerful and dark track that you can also dance to.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">My opinion: most of the artists were quite respectful with the original, but honestly, is there other way of approaching these songs? Generally, the covers manage to point out some, maybe not that evident, elements of the original and at the same time, they manage to show the personality of the artist covering the material. And we are also talking about some of the best songs ever written in the 20th century.
