Although we have written repeatedly about her, on the occasion of the release of her new single, we would like to remind you that aux animaux is an artist based in Sweden who makes a quite personal darkwave, partly due to the use of the theremin. Like other artists such as Painted Roman, Vlimmer or Sea Lungs, to name a few, we always try to review all her releases.
As she commented in her 2019 interview, her name is a reference to veganism, a philosophy that has been very present in her work, as shown in this track, Lost Souls, in which she tries to give voice to animals living in captivity. Apart from being an example of her way of thinking, it is also a great example of her style, with that terrifying theremin with which the track begins and which runs through it, giving us some goosebumps. The horrible images of pigs in captivity in the video perfectly reflect the haunting tone of the composition, which also features a powerful vocal performance.
The track was produced and mixed by the artist herself, originally from Turkey. Mastering has again been done by Doruk Öztürkcan of She Past Away with whom she is touring the Netherlands and Germany during these month of April.
