Raúl Galán Berlanga, the brain behind Berlangãlan, is widely known among the most adventurous public of Madrid,p either for his more experimental/darl ambient side, as a member of the electronic rock band The Stirrings or as a DJ in the Sad Lands Sessions that we can enjoy in the Fotomatón. Besides, he is one of those musicians that you find in all the interesting concerts in the capital. Recently we have been able to see him presenting the album in the tour he did with Sarcoma and Narcoleptica (which apparently has not finished yet). Berlangãlan released and album two years ago, entitled Niebla, in which he started developing the style and themes that we can hear in this album. For “Reafirmar”, he has followed the format of the label, which as its name indicates, publishes albums of only 12 minutes. To continue with the numerology, all they releases are on the 12th of each month, so they publish 12 albums per year. The label has also released a dark ambient album by Bleak Fiction, another project that our readers might like.
“Reafirmar” is a drone/dark ambient piece created to accompany a video also by Raúl in which we start traveling long highways. It is the most abstract and dreamy part of the track. We soon reach a city and start touring churches and places dear to the musician, at all times accompanied by a beautiful melody. The theme is gaining in intensity and emotion from the eighth minute, with sharper sounds and some percussion while the unfocused image begins to gain precision, in a process that reaffirms its reality.
